Agricultural Hall?

In 1818, the Massachusetts Society for the Promotion of Agriculture built the original Agricultural Hall on Dighton Street in Brighton.  It served as the hub of the Brighton Fair and Cattle Show, one of the earliest and largest such fairs in the country.  In 1829, "a 17-pound turnip, a 19-pound radish, and a bough on which pears hung like a cluster of grapes were among the outstanding exhibits of that year."  In 1844 the building was moved to its present location at the corner of Chestnut Hill Avenue and Washington Street.

2019     EGG CHICKS     2019

Agricultural Hall's chick supplier, Erikson Grain Mill in Acton, has posted their chick calendar for 2019:

Chicks are sent from large, national hatcheries to Erikson, and I grab them soon after they arrive and bring them to the big city.  If you want me to pick up chicks and bring them into Boston for you, please let me know asap!  The price is around $5 per chick.  Text or call me at 617-388-7378.

Other options:

If you want chicks/chickens but miss the April pick-ups, there are other options available almost anytime all year:

1) Order chicks in spring from a mail-order supplier:

     *  Mt. Healthy Hatcheries (http://www.mthealthy.com/) ,

     *  Murray McMurray

               (https://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/index.html),

     *  Purely Poultry (https://www.purelypoultry.com/), and

     *  Stromberg's (https://www.strombergschickens.com/).

There are other suppliers, too; just Google "buy chickens online."

2) Give me a call and I will try to locate juvenile or adult birds from local farms.
